Cedarlane is pleased to offer Millipore’s Nylon Flocked Swabs for state of the art sample collection.  They are suitable for immunoassays, rapid and molecular testing.  With their exclusive spray-on nylon flocked swab technology, they are optimized to collect and release maximum target analyte (more than 80% of the sample analyte is released, making them superior to regular fiber swabs).  With your choice of 3 swab types (nylon minitip with molded breakpoint, nylon regular with molded breakpoint or nylon flexible minitip), you can order them individually or purchase them in combination with Millipore’s Universal Transport Medium (UTM). 

Millipore’s Universal Transport Medium (UTM) is intended for the collection and transport of clinical specimens containing virus, Chlamydia, mycoplasmas or ureaplasmas from the collection site to the testing laboratory.  Supplied in a 1 ml size for stable, high concentration of specimen sample, the small volume minimizes dilution effects that can negatively affect all tests, especially Rapids.  This product can be purchased alone or in combination with Millipore’s flocked swabs.

NGAL (neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin, also known as lipocalin-2) is a small protein found not only in neutrophils but also in certain epithelia, such as renal tubules, where its expression is dramatically increased in ischemic or nephrotoxic injury. NGAL levels rise in urine and blood within 2 hours of renal injury. This makes NGAL an early, sensitive and non-invasive biomarker for acute renal injury.
